Short answer

Short answer. NHTSA FARS recorded 3 fatal crashes in Yukon from 2022 to 2024 (2024 figures are preliminary), at least 2 of them on I-40. Yukon Police takes public records requests through a secure online Open Records Request form or in person at its Records Department; for a Sheriff or Highway Patrol crash, ask that agency.

FARS: fatal crashes recorded in Yukon, 2022–2024

NHTSA's Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) recorded 3 fatal crashes with the Yukon city code from 2022 through 2024, which killed 3 people.¹ FARS figures were pulled from NHTSA's national FARS data files on October 28, 2026. The 2024 figures come from the FARS Annual Report File, preliminary. FARS coded all 3 to Canadian County.

These are counts only. Traffic volume isn't accounted for, and FARS covers fatal crashes only, so the numbers don't show how risky any road is to drive. All 3 records carry the FARS city name Yukon.

I-40 crashes near Yukon: which agency has the report

OHP has primary authority and must investigate collisions on all interstates, including inside city limits; local police authority there is supplemental. State law directs OHP "To investigate and report traffic collisions on all interstate and defense highways and on all highways outside of incorporated municipalities" (47 O.S. § 2-117(B)(10)), and the Attorney General's formal opinion addresses that duty (2025 OK AG 11 (Aug. 27, 2025)). Check the agency named on your paperwork. A Highway Patrol report is requested from Service Oklahoma with the Collision Request for Records (Form 303RM-C). What state law requires after a crash

  1. Give information and help at a Yukon crash. In a crash that injures or kills someone or damages a vehicle someone is driving or attending, each driver must give their name, address and vehicle registration number, show their driver license and security verification form on request, and give reasonable assistance to anyone injured (47 O.S. § 10-104).
  2. Report an injury crash in Yukon. If anyone is hurt or killed, the driver must give notice "by the quickest means of communication" to "the local police department, if such accident occurs within a municipality, or to the office of the county sheriff or the nearest office of the State Highway Patrol" (47 O.S. § 10-107).
  3. Stop after vehicle damage. From November 1, 2026, 47 O.S. § 10-103 covers "damage to property or a vehicle that is driven or attended by any person" (47 O.S. § 10-103, version effective Nov. 1, 2026). It requires the driver to stop, return to the scene if needed, and stay until the § 10-104 duties are met. Before November 1, 2026, the rule covered an "accident resulting only in damage to a vehicle which is driven or attended by any person" (47 O.S. § 10-103, version in force before Nov. 1, 2026).
  4. A written report later, only in some cases. Except for collisions on private property, 47 O.S. § 10-108 requires a written report to the Department of Public Safety only "if settlement of the collision has not been made within six (6) months after the date of the accident", and "if a settlement has been made a report of the settlement must be made by the parties." The dollar threshold is $3,000 from November 1, 2026 (47 O.S. § 10-108, version effective Nov. 1, 2026). Before November 1, 2026, the statute's threshold was $300 (47 O.S. § 10-108, version in force before Nov. 1, 2026). Ask a lawyer which version applies to your crash. From November 1, 2026: "No report is required when all parties involved agree to exchange information and there is no injury, no death, and no damage to property other than vehicles."
